and development time.
- Includes a powerful tool that makes debugging and testing
an application faster and more efficient.
- Built-in native support for Oracle and Sybase assures
connectivity to popular relational databases.

data conversion, and a variety of statistical calculations
- The system includes an enhanced OPC Client that eliminates
the need to purchase a proprietary Device Interface in
many systems, so costs are kept at a minimum.
- A Starter Application is included to speed the development
of the application and reduce Total Cost of Ownership.
- FactoryLink is based on standard technology, so it's
easier to maintain and personnel costs are lower.
Performance and Scalability
Provides the speed and performance necessary to handle
all sizes of applications – from very small to very large.
FactoryLink can scale from a system with just a few tags
and one user to one with millions of tags and hundreds
of users, without sacrificing performance. And, the price
is scalable too, so users can select the size of system
they need at an affordable price.
Platforms
Windows 2000® and Windows XP®, with remote access via
Windows Terminal Services or new FactoryLink Web Service
using .NET, Microsoft Web Services, HTTP, and SOAP.
Distributed Architecture
FactoryLink has a multiple-user, multi-tier client/server
architecture. Connectivity between clients and servers
is provided via LAN, WAN, dial-up connection, or through
the Internet. Systems can even be set up to allow remote
users to access the system on their pocket PCs through
Windows Terminal Services, so they are always aware of
the latest information. Application servers are responsible
for all data processing.
Due to its architecture, FactoryLink is inherently scalable.
The client, business, and data services tiers can be distributed
between computers in any manner, which provides incredible
flexibility to the organization. Small applications can
exist on a single computer – in which case all three tiers
reside on the same computer. Larger applications can be
distributed to separate computing resources. |
