INA NAFTAPLIN - Modernization of motocompressors

SCAN has signed a contract with INA - INDUSTRIJA NAFTE d.d. SD NAFTAPLIN for the modernization of supervisory and control system of the two motocompressors located on compressor station Lipovljani near Novska, Croatia.

As a result of client's satisfaction with the delivered control system of the new motocompressor MK-5, modernization of the two existing motocompressors MK-8 and MK-9 was initiated on compressor station Lipovljani.

Modernization of older motocompressors includes the complete replacement of the compressors' control system and its connection to compressor station Lipovljani supervisory and control system (SCADA).

Integration to central supervisory system made the control of the motocompressors much easier.

The project also inculded the delivery and installation of new instrumentation equipment incorporated with the control system.

Control system is derived in such way that every motocompressor is driven with separate programmable logic controller (PLC) and is independent of other motocompressors.

Supervisory and control levels of the system are integrated into Ethernet 10/100 Mbit/s communication network. TCP/IP and UDP protocols are used for communication. This type of communication provides secure and fast data transfer and is easy to upgrade, i.e. system expansion with intention to control other motocompressors.
